Tamar Labels expands quality offering

Tamar Labels is expanding its premium offering with the installation of a Mark Andy LP3000 430mm 8-colour UV flexo press at its facility in Devon, south west England.

As part of the label manufacturer’s company-wide reinvestment strategy for 2013/14, the new Mark Andy press will sit alongside Tamar’s existing fleet of Edale narrow web flexo and Nilpeter 8-colour UV flexo presses and HP Indigo digital label presses.

According to Tamar Labels operations director Ricky Hann, the LP3000 – an 8-colour press fitted with a full GEW UV system – has already enabled the company to win a series of lucrative new contracts.

“With the inline foil and screen capability on the LP3000 we saw it as a giant leap forward to be able to enhance the range of premium quality labels that we can provide,” Hann says.

“Just having this press has already opened the doors to new markets for the production of luxury and other primary product labels in sectors such as packaging, cosmetics, and healthcare.”

Tamar Labels was the first UK label converter to purpose-build a 10,000sqm clean room facility specifically designed to comply with the British Retail Consortium & Institute of Packaging clean room protocol standards.
