Strapping sets new direction

22 March 2011

Corrugated products manufacturer CBS Packaging has invested in a new MCB-2 strapping machine from Mosca, which enables the company to strap in the direction of the flute to reduce consumption of strap.

Based in Birmingham, UK, CBS says it relies on fast, reliable strapping for plant efficiency, and is already using Mosca specialist corrugated strapping equipment.

Traditionally, machines strap against the direction of the flute, but by changing the direction is enabling CBS to reduce the amount of strap, and overall packaging materials, required for transport.

Mosca’s MCB-2 in-line squarer bundle strapper includes an electro-mechanical press for product compression, which is integrated into the strapping unit.

Throughput capacity is 27 inline bundles/min, and the machine straps products with standard machine grade 5mm PP straps.
