Stölzle glass bottles in Lush cosmetics ‘first’

13 December 2012

Glass specialist Stölzle Flaconnage has provided the containers for the new Emotional Brilliance cosmetics range from ecological cosmetics brand Lush.

The company – part of the Austria-headquartered Stölzle Glass Group – says it is the first time a cosmetics company has chosen glass containers to be used across the whole range of eye shadow, eye liner, mascara and lipstick.

“The new Lush packaging is a brilliant example of what can be achieved with a standard container,” the company says.

Lush has selected a 5ml ‘dropper’ bottle from Stölzle Flaconnage, adapted the neck to take different applicators for each of the four product types in question, and developed its own caps.

The heavy base of the Stölzle bottle brings a quality look to the Emotional Brilliance range.

Printing, carried out by Stölzle’s own decoration factory, features a reversing out on white, which, according to the company, allows “the colour of the contents to spell out brand details”.

Emotions are the inspiration for the product names across the range, with the range of vivid colours contributing to the stand-out looks of the new cosmetics brand.

Stölzle Glass Group has four production sites in Austria, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Poland, with 28 production lines and 1400 employees worldwide producing 2.7 billion glass containers per year in the healthcare and consumer, prestige and beauty, and tableware sectors.
