Sone investment expands plastics blow moulding offering

In a £700,000 investment at its County Durham facility in the north of England, Sone Products has announced it is to introduce injection blow moulding to its range of services.

According to the specialist rigid plastics packaging company, its latest investment will be cover the purchase of two Novapax NSB 650/110 IBM machines, moulds, infrastructure changes and the recruitment of an experienced specialist process engineer.

Sone Products manufacturing manager, David Clemes, says: “Introducing injection blow moulding complements our existing extrusion blow moulding capabilities, greatly enhancing what we can offer our growing client base.

“With both EBM and IBM we can provide more flexibility and satisfy differing demands of our existing and new clients.”

Products manufactured by Sone typically include mascaras, eyeliners and lip-gloss packs for the cosmetics industry, with the company manufacturing the main components, applying decoration and branding in-line and assembling the applicators ready for worldwide distribution.
