Smurfit Kappa generic design for Pouch-Up provides wine packaging flexibility

7 April 2014

Targeting the wine retail sector, Smurfit Kappa is now offering its 3-litre Pouch-Up packaging format with a generic design.

According to the company, the move allows companies of all sizes in the alcoholic beverages sector to try its Pouch-Up packaging in small quantities, without having to customise the design.

“With this new format, Smurfit Kappa completes its large range of Pouch-Up, both in terms of capacity and form,” the company says.

The Pouch-Up meets growing consumer requirements for packaging that is lightweight, unbreakable and easy to use.

Smurfit Kappa’s Vitop Original tap is positioned on the outside of the Pouch-Up to allow the contents to be easily poured.

A double gusset on the bottom and the top gives a more cylindrical shape, while the design brings a mix of tradition and modernity, potentially to suit all types of wine.

“The new structure of the quadruplex aluminium film ensures high mechanical strength and an excellent barrier to oxygen, guaranteeing perfect quality and long shelf-life of the wine,” Smurfit Kappa says.
