Smart blow moulding launch increases capacity

13 May 2013

India-based Smart Machineries and Moulds has launched the DS Series Double Station Blow Moulding Machine for the production of plastic bottles and containers between 250ml and 5-litre sizes.

According to the Mumbai-headquartered company, the DS Series machines’ Faster Dry Cycles (capable of 15 dry cycles/min) result in higher outputs, enhancing production capacity “by 50-60 % as compared to the single station machine”.

While the DS Series machine currently offers the capacity for five main variants – 250ml, 500ml, 1-litre, 2-litre and 5-litre – the company says it also has designs in place for a 10-litre capacity machine.

“The larger platen area help to accommodate bigger size moulds,” the company says. “The machine is flexible with centre distances of 80mm, 90mm, 110mm and 150mm with 2/3/4 parison die-heads.”

Established since 2004, Smart Machineries and Moulds (SMMPL) acquired Mumbai-based extrusion blow moulding machine manufacturer Mazda Mech Industries in April 2010, and now has its own manufacturing unit near Mumbai and a trading office in Mumbai.
