Packaging machinery manufacturer Schubert says its new flexible TLM filling machines herald a “new era in packaging machine engineering”.
The new line is capable of filling product into bottles, tubes, cans and bags using volume, weight and count technology, and features “simple mechanical design, intelligent control system and exchangeable tools”.
“This new method will set new standards in filling and closing machine construction and pave the way for more efficient and flexible packing machines,” says David Maddern, sales director at the Germany-based company’s UK subsidiary in Coventry.
The TLM tube filling and closing machine has an output of 200 tubes per minute, and at various different configuration levels, up to 1,000 tubes can be filled and closed per minute.
By attaching additional sub machines, the line can be completed to a compact individual packaging line.
The new TLM machinery will be on display at this year’s PPMA show in September, with demonstrations showing how tubes are automatically unpacked from shipping cartons and moved onto a transmodule transport section, in a mass flow.
At the same time the tubes are aligned according to their printing marks, and transferred from the mass flow to a single row transport section.
Filling is affected using volume dosing or gravimetrically using weighing cells, integrated in the transmodule. The containers are closed with screw caps, crimp caps or ultrasonic sealing stations.
“Schubert has recognized the growing demand for integrating a filling application within its automated packing lines,” adds Mark Stepney, operations director at Schubert UK. “Visitors to the PPMA show will see the new machine’s capabilities and its wide range of benefits.”
