SATO showcases print and label solutions for food industry at CFIA 2015

SATO will showcase its latest solutions for the food industry at the CFIA show (stand D8 in Hall 2), in Rennes, France, from 10 to 12 March. Highlights will include SATO's NX series universal thermal printers and high-performance S84-ex and S86-ex print engines for high speed print and apply applications. Visitors to the stand will be able to learn how they can make labelling, identifying and tracing food goods an easy and efficient process.

With the introduction of European Directive 1169/2011 on food labelling last December, ensuring labelling accuracy and traceability has never been so important for food businesses across Europe. With its fast-paced working environments, the food industry also demands high-speed print and apply solutions.

SATO's new S-series print engines offer significant industry advancements in terms of quality imaging, exceptional throughput, and easy operation, setup and maintenance.

The S84-ex print engine has been integrated in a print and apply system to ensure high precision in applying labels on the side of each of a food parcel. Different label sizes are available -- from 30 x 50 mm (minimum) to 120 x 250 mm (maximum) - providing maximum flexibility to the user, while an applicator system with aspiring belt ensures high print and apply speed.

SATO's universal CL4NX 'plug and play' printer is also ideal for demanding and fast-paced food and drink packaging. It is quick to install and set up and can be easily integrated in existing systems thanks to its auto-detect function. It can handle a wide range of media including different sized labels, and features a wide head opening for easy media installation, with no ribbon core needed. Additionally, it ensures ultimate print quality and exceptional processing and throughput speed and memory capacity.

"With our broad portfolio of barcode printers and labelling solutions, we can offer food manufacturers an easy way of producing labels that clearly indicate vital information about foods and beverages, enabling them to meet EU legal obligations and CFIA is a great opportunity to present our innovative tracking and tracing solutions to the European food market," says Laurent Lassus, Managing Director, SATO France. "We provide complete labelling and packaging solutions which help businesses increase efficiency, optimise internal and external logistics processes and most notably to cut costs."
