RPC ‘versatile’ Bebo Twist container launch promises re-closing convenience

19 February 2014

RPC Bebo Plastik’s new Bebo Twist container is a “versatile and user-friendly” re-closable food packaging concept suited to a variety of applications, including soups, sauces and ready meals.

According to the plastic packaging specialist, Bebo Twist can be specified in either mono or multilayer polypropylene, with a variety of decoration options to meet individual customer requirements.

The thermoformed tub incorporates thread segments in the seal flange that securely lock with the inner thread flights on the injection moulded PP lids, to combine “easy and reliable” opening and closing with an accurately fitting lid designed to keep product safe between uses.

A high-barrier version of Bebo Twist features an EVOH layer that provides an effective barrier against oxygen ingress for an extended ambient shelf life, as well as delivering the necessary strength to allow hot fill, pasteurisation, sterilisation and aseptic filling.

“Our new Bebo Twist tub combines consumer convenience with effective product protection and promotion,” says RPC Bebo sales & marketing manager Robert Steinmeijer.

The Bebo Twist tub can be decorated by in-mould label thermoforming or by printing, labelling or sleeving after manufacture, enabling food manufacturers to create effective on-shelf differentiation and tailor the pack to meet specific brand objectives.

The complementary cap, injection moulded by RPC Bramlage Food, can also be labelled. RPC says the first two product launches are “in the pipeline” for 2014.
