RPC SuperLock pots for Nordic TexMex range

RPC Superfos has supplied its 215ml SuperLock containers with click-on screw lids for two new dips in the TexMex range from Santa Maria, the Nordic region’s biggest supplier of spices and world cuisine preparations.

The packaging for the new products – TexMex Onion & Garlic and TexMex Chunky Salsa – is produced using In-Mould Labelling.

Polypropylene SuperLock pots from RPC Superfos are designed and produced especially for products that require an extremely good oxygen barrier, provided by an integrated barrier foil covering all surfaces on the packaging, and a membrane seal.

“Glass is great but takes up a lot of space on the pallet,” says Åsa Yhlen, packaging development technologist at Santa Maria, part of the Finnish Paulig Group.

“The stacking facility of the SuperLock pot makes it easy to handle in connection with the filling process [and] we can skip a working procedure thanks to in-mould labelling.”

RPC Superfos laboratory tests have shown that SuperLock – awarded a Packaging Oscar at the Salon Emballage 2012 in Paris – can double or even triple the shelf life possible for food products.

“I believe that plastic as a packaging material will keep gaining ground,” adds Yhlen.
