RPC Superfos FlakeFree container solves paint quality issues

4 March 2014

RPC Superfos has launched Flakefree to tackle the problem of dried flakes of paint on the rim and lid of paint containers.

Aimed at both the professional and DIY markets, RPC Superfos FlakeFree containers and lids have a granular texture on the inside, which prevents dry flakes from falling into the content no matter how many times a container is opened and reclosed, according to the plastics packaging specialist.

RPC Superfos cites its own research in which 97% of respondents identified the flaking problem as an issue resulting in a poor quality.

“The development of FlakeFree…eliminates flakes and the moments of irritation which they can trigger,” says Jørgen Bitsch, RPC Superfos general sales manager.

Bitsch adds that waste is minimised since people painting can use all the paint in a container instead of having to throw away remains that have been spoiled by flakes.

“By choosing our quality containers with a FlakeFree texture, paint producers can offer the end users an even higher paint quality,” he says.

RPC Superfos plastic containers also bring other advantages, the company says, such as easy stacking, opening, handling and transportation, with strong design and flexible material making it suitable for tinting machines.

FlakeFree is available for various RPC Superfos paint containers and lids – SuperCube, SuperFlex and SuperLift – or as part of a customised packaging solution.
