RPC praised for lawn spreader revamp

RPC has been praised for the “critical role” it played in the production of the new Aftercut Even-Flo lawn spreader from Westland.

Designed by Webb deVlam, the lightweight pack is the culmination of co-operation between RPC’s Rushden and Market Rasen container sites.

The container, which was blow moulded in HDPE by RPC Rushden, features an inter-changeable polypropylene dispensing handle complete with integrated spreading chute produced at RPC Market Rasen.

“This is a very innovative concept and as such provided one of our most challenging and complex projects in order to ensure that the final pack offered all the advanced features of the original design,” says RPC Design manager Brian Lodge.

Westland specified that the new Even-Flo spreader ensured an even spread of granules during spreading, as well as being lightweight and reusable.

“As well as playing a critical role in taking this innovative design from concept to reality, this project required the various RPC sites and departments to work as a cross-functional team, particularly to meet our strict deadline for market launch,” adds Adam Long, product manager for Lawncare at Westland.
