RPC design spices up Old El Paso bottles

7 February 2013

The multi-layer polypropylene structure of the new bottle incorporates a layer of EVOH to provide an effective barrier against oxygen ingress, delivering the required 18-month, extended ambient shelf life for the products: Old El Paso Chunky Salsa, Chunky Guacamole and Soured Cream Topping.

The distinctive 'waisted' bottle shape designed by RPC Containers Corby creates an attractive appearance on shelf and provides easy handling and squeezing for the consumer, giving accurate portion control.

The bottle offers a wide decoration area for the distinctive self-adhesive labels, with colourful graphics and the familiar Old El Paso logo on a yellow background which complements the colours of the caps to maximise on-shelf presence.

The lightweight and shatterproof design offers valuable safety benefits in kitchen and foodservice environments, and the valved cap features different orifices to suit the density of each product.

RPC Corby is Europe's leading manufacturer of extrusion blow moulded barrier bottles and wide-necked jars - in sizes from 125ml to 4 litres - for ambient, long shelf life food and drink products, including ketchups and sauces, juices, soups, fruit, vegetables and baby foods.

The company specialises in the production of containers suitable for high temperature processing and aseptic filling.
