RPC Containers has created a bespoke plastic container for the latest innovation in car care by Tetrosyl: a novel foaming car shampoo system, CarPlan Demon Foam.
According to car care products specialist Tetrosyl, CarPlan Demon Foam is the only car shampoo on the UK market able to dispense a dense ‘snow foam’ simply by attaching a hosepipe, without requiring a specially designed pressure washer.
An on-pack ‘Foam Gun’ allows users to switch between foaming and rinsing, and Tetrosyl was looking for a pack solution to enable the Foam Gun to be easily stored in and fixed to the pack, while at the same time effectively communicating the concept to the consumer.
RPC Design developed a container with a deep recess at the rear where the Foam Gun is held during transit and in-store.
A hole runs through the centre of the pack to enable consumers to see the applicator when the pack is facing forward on the shelf.
When in use, the Foam Gun screws onto the container and links to a dip tube held in the neck, which controls the flow of product to create the foam once a hosepipe is attached.
A large handle allows consumers to hold the container securely while in use.
The green colour of the snow foam formula is clearly visible on-shelf thanks to the 2-litre natural HDPE bottle, and the brand is further enhanced by a large label featuring strong graphics and a clear section through which the controller for the Foam Gun can be seen.
The containers are blow moulded in HDPE at RPC Plenmeller, with RPC Market Rasen using injection-moulding technology to create the inserts that fit into the neck of the bottles and hold the dip tubes in place – these are then fitted by Tetrosyl once the containers have been filled.
Mike Winston, RPC UKSC’s general sales manager, says: “This container has really pushed the boundaries of both design and manufacturing – the entire concept is unique.
“The whole team has worked hard to produce the impossible and we are extremely pleased with the finished product.”
