Rexam’s aluminium Fusion bottle has won the German Packaging Award 2010 in the sales packaging category.
The award was announced at the FachPack trade fair held at the end of September in Nuremberg, Germany.
Features that caught the judge’s approval were the ‘engaging design’, along with resealability and the environmentally friendly manufacturing process. The first drawn wall ironed aluminium bottle, Fusion combines minimum weight and maximum stability, according to Rexam
Welf Jung, Sales and Marketing Directory for Germany, who accepted the award, said “Bringing Fusion to market has been a great technological challenge. It is also a great privilege to have received acknowledgement from such an experienced judging panel.”
Fusion combines the shape of a bottle with the advantages of the beverage can. It is 100% recyclable, and is suitable for both still and carbonated beverages. The winning example was developed in co-operation with nutribeau, a German beverage producer, which uses the bottle for its beauty drink Beauq.
