‘Resource saving’ airless dispenser for hospitality sector

Hospitality products distributor Groupe GM is marketing a ‘resource-saving’ airless dispenser suitable for hotels, bars and restaurants.

The Ecosource, manufactured by Swedish supplier Sterisol, pumps products manufactured and vacuum packed at a high temperature in sterile pouches. It is designed to remove any risk of oxidation or bacterial contamination, to keep contents fresh without using preservatives.

Laurent Marchand, Groupe GM president says: “For environmental and financial reasons, hotels are increasingly concerned about their consumption of natural resources. The patented technology reduces the amount of packaging used to only 11g per refill, and we have found the consumption of cosmetics using this device to be almost three times lower than with other dispensers.”

Emptying of the pouch is in excess of 98%, with only 2ml of liquid dispersed per use.

Over a one-month period in three hotels in Lisbon - equivalent to 70,000 overnight stays and 122,000 guests – average use was about 12ml of Ecosource cosmetic products per room, compared with a previous 35ml.
