What is claimed to be “the world’s first in-line automated ?ultrasonic film-sleeving technology for the ?ready meal market” is preparing for its commercial launch developed by SIB Technology.

With worldwide patents in place, Flexowrap is hoping ?to change the face of own brand readymeal ?packaging by cutting costs, minimising waste and? increasing productivity, says Flexowrap managing director Brian Franks.

“After two years of development we are now working with supermarkets and food producers to replace the card sleeve,” he says.

Franks adds that readymeal ranges wrapped with ?film sleeves cost significantly less, save end of life costs and bring environmental efficiencies. ?? He further proposes that a rate of up to 40 packs/minute? on an automated machine also offers increased ?productivity for some businesses that make the switch.
