Pro Mach to acquire Zalkin

12 December 2013

US-based packaging machinery manufacturer Pro Mach will acquire outright the capping equipment manufacturer André Zalkin in France.

Subject to the completion of the transaction in early 2014 and antitrust approvals, the current Zalkin management team and employees will continue to operate from their facilities in Montreuil l’Argillé and Rueil-Malmaison.

Zalkin manufactures screw, push-on and Roll-on Pilfer Proof (ROPP) capping machines, as well as cap sorters, elevators and decappers, while Pro Mach is a leading provider of integrated packaging products and solutions for food, beverage, household goods, pharmaceutical and other consumer and industrial companies.

The two companies have had an existing partnership since 1972 through Fowler Products, a division of Pro Mach.

Pro Mach, one of north America’s largest packaging machinery manufacturers, is a single source provider of stand-alone and turnkey integrated systems for primary and secondary packaging, processing, end of line, material handling, and identificatin and tracking.

Headquartered near Cincinnati, Ohio, Pro Mach has in recent years increased its focus on markets outside north America, particularly Latin America and Europe.

“Zalkin is the deal partner to support our continued growth outside north America and further strengthen our position as a global leader in packaging solutions,” said Mark Anderson, Pro Mach president and CEO.
