Printer manufacturer Primera has launched the semi-automatic AP550e Flat-Surface Label Applicator.
The AP550e is said to enable the “fast and easy”, precise application of product and identification labels onto a wide range of flat surfaces including rectangular or tapered bottles, boxes, packages, bags, pouches, lids and tins.
According to the US-headquartered company, label application without wrinkles or folds in exactly the location desired gives finished products a highly professional look and significantly increases the number of containers that can be labelled per hour compared to manually applying labels.
“The AP550e Label Applicator is an affordable, easy-to-use device that helps our customers increase their production rates,” says Mark D. Strobel, Primera’s vice president of sales and marketing.
“Perhaps even more important, it significantly enhance a product’s image,” he says. “With AP550e, labels are applied straight and in precisely the same place on every package – it’s well-recognised that the better your packaging looks, the more you’ll likely sell.”
Ideally suited for use with labels produced by Primera’s LX-Series and CX-Series color label printers and digital label presses, the AP550e is said to be simple to operate, by placing the container in the mechanism and pulling the arm to the container.
Variable spacing, memory for up to nine jobs, and a counter with built-in LED display are all included, and no air-pressure supply is required.
Priced at €2495 (MSRP) in Europe, the AP550e is available from Primera’s authorised resellers and distributors in more than 179 countries.
