The PPMA award for Processing and Packaging Machinery Manufacturer of the Year 2012 went to Matcon at the annual PPMA Group Industry Awards event held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, 25 September.
Intermediate Bulk Container specialist Matcon was praised by the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association awards judges for its “clear business strategy, export-led growth and continued product development”.
Memorably presented by comedian Bobby Davro and TV presenter Amy Garcia, the first award of the evening went to Linx Printing Technologies, for Most Innovative Processing or Packaging Machine. The company was praised for “demonstrating that thorough investigation of every component can bring outstanding results”.

An award for Outstanding Achievement went to a surprised Peter Whitfield, founder of the Appetite for Engineering and Appetite for Skills programmes, while Endoline MD Alan Yates was recognised for his Exceptional Contribution to PPMA, as his tenure as the organisation’s president for the last four years draws to a close.
