PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Ipack-Ima Spa in the organisation of the inaugural East Afripack exhibition taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, 9-12 September 2014.
Supported by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), EAC (East African Community) and the Kenyan Ministry of Industrialization and Enterprise Development, and dedicated to processing, packaging and converting technology, East Afripack will be the only major exhibition of its type in the region.
Ipack-Ima, which organises its own exhibitions for the processing and packaging technology industries in Europe, will now enjoy the support, skill and expertise of PMMI, the organiser of the Pack Expo trade show series, and an international trade association representing over 600 suppliers of packaging and processing machinery, materials, components and containers.
The East Afripack organisers expect the new joint venture to increase visibility and make East Afripack attractive to the international public, helping Africa to strengthen its growth and compete globally.

Combined, the EAC nations have a real GDP of more than US$43 billion, and East Africa’s middle class has more than tripled over the last three decades.
