Planglow goes to extremes with Natural Pot

14 May 2013

Targeting the catering sector, Planglow has launched the sustainably sourced 12-ounce Natural Pot with a choice of two matching lids, designed to hold very cold and very hot foods.

According to the UK-based specialist in labelling and eco-packaging for the catering industry, Natural Pot is produced from Kraft board with a white inner and industrially compostable PLA coating.

The matching 12oz Bio Pot Lid is made from a corn-based material certified to European compostability standard EN13432, while the standard 12oz Pot Lid is manufactured in PS plastic.

With its “rustic” finish, the “excellent” thermo-insulating properties of Natural Pot make it suited to cold foods such as sorbet, ice cream or frozen yogurt, yet the Bio Pot Lid can also be used with very hot foods such as porridge, pasta, soups and stews without warping, cracking or melting.

“We’ve seen a significant shift from ambient temperature or chilled foods towards snacks and meals at the more extreme ends of the temperature spectrum and wanted to offer our customers a product that can cope with both,” says Planglow marketing director Rachel Sawtell.

“This offers a rustic, brand-neutral and Natural solution that’s more cost effective and storage-wise too so menu options can now be as changeable as the weather.”
