Design agency Blue Marlin says it trod gently when asked by brandowner Vinprom to produce a new design for Peshterska Grozdova Rakia (PGR), a drink popular among Bulgarians.

Rakia is the national drink in Balkan countries and PGR is a premium brand in the market. The aim was to update the look while keeping true to the brand’s heritage.

Blue Marlin says it added embossing to the bottle to ‘dial up the quality cues and a bright green to really pep up the label’.

“We have made it look much more modern and of the moment, but in such a way as not to offend its loyalists,” says Blue Marlin Bath Creative Director Chris Hart.
