Paper Industry "Fit to Fight"

Simon Weston, CPI's Director of Raw Materials, will be taking part in the 'Recyclate materials and markets: trends, risks and prices' session at the forthcoming Resourcing the Future 2015 Conference. The session will provide an insight from new research into mechanisms to reduce risk and exposure to price volatility in materials markets.

 

The conference, a major event for the UK waste and resource management industry, is run in partnership by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, the Environmental Services Association and the Resource Association, and takes place on 24 and 25 June at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

 

The session, takes place at 2.00-3.30pm on Wednesday 24 June. The panel includes material specific experts for each dry recyclable stream, including:

 

  • Jim Malone, Head of Recycling, DS Smith
  • Jessica Baker, Chief Executive, Chase Plastics
  • Norman Lett, Regulatory Affairs Manager, Ball Packaging & Chairman of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association
  • Rebecca Cocking, Head of Container Affairs, British Glass

 

In his presentation, Simon will describe the current landscape for the Paper Industry, noting that the industry has been through major consolidation in the past 15 years but is now "fit to fight" and reliant on high quality raw materials to support its future success.
