Oystar Hamba unveils lubrication-free chainless drive concept

23 July 2013

Specialist machinery manufacturer Oystar Hamba has launched its new MultiFormat chainless transport system, which is said to increase the availability of machines for handling preformed cups by “up to 25%”.

The new drive system by Oystar Hamba transports preformed tubs up to 140mm high and holding up to 2,500 grams, processing up to 57,600 tubs/hr.

As it is lubrication-free, the MultiFormat is ideally suited to use in hygienic conditions, such as the production of dairy products. The MultiFormat can be used in new machines and retrofitted into older ones in the Oystar BK series.

“The automated format changeover results in an increased production time, caused by format change over time reduction,” the company says.

“For example, a single person can handle a cell plate change without tools in less than 15 minutes.”

This makes it profitable even for production of variable seasonal and country-specific packaging formats on Oystar tub filling machines.

By minimising the maintenance of the transport system, through eliminating transport chain service and stretching, maintenance costs for the machines are also reduced, according to the company.

“Reduction of the parts subject to wear and tear also ensures that your maintenance needs are kept to a minimum.”
