ORIS Packaging Innovations and Esko Announce Partnership
Technology collaboration promotes colour integrity and accuracy
ORIS Packaging Innovations, the UK partner for CGS Publishing Technologies' packaging products, has agreed a strategic deal with Esko.
The relationship sees both suppliers collaborate to enable users to have access to Esko's Color Engine database of spot colour ink profiles directly from the ORIS Flex Pack // Web application. The result is colour accuracy and integrity for even complex and demanding packaging environments.

ORIS Flex Pack // Web is a cost effective turnkey solution for any contract-quality packaging proofing and mock up production. The colour management software which, combined with a specially designed custom interface for Roland VersaCAMM VS series printers, delivers production flexibility for halftone and continuous tone proofi¬ng. All printer features, such as multi-pass and print-and-cut, are supported, and Pantone colour libraries included, to enable proofi¬ng or special colours, with the possibility of de¬fining custom colours.
Its main benefits are a full gamut inkset comprising re-formulated CMYK with orange and green, custom-developed by CGS, complimented by white and metallic silver, giving the ability to achieve 98% of Pantone PMS Colours including metallic, an ecosolvent inkset and the opportunity to choose a wide range of high quality packaging media, including shrink film and the revolutionary ORIS Transfer Film, which allows to produce proofs and mock-ups on nearly any original stock. The ORIS Flex Pack // Web software also offers integrated soft proofi¬ng, proof certi¬fication and halftone support with any kind of 1-bit file format. Also available is a connection to the Esko Color Engine spot colour database.
ORIS CxF Toolbox creates an ISO 17972-4 compliant CxF or CxF/X-4 from a measurement file, including spectral data. It delivers a file that allows the printer to define ingredients and tolerances, data for ink formulation and pre-qualification of inks, proofing and process control systems. ORIS CxF Designer, an Illustrator plug-in imports CxF data containing brand owner's specific brand colours or libraries into the Adobe design software colour pallet. It then embeds spectral data, tints ramps and opacity information to final PDF/X files in an open file format.
ORIS CxF Toolbox and ORIS CxF Designer utilize the new ISO standards and an open format the entire supply chain can utilize.
