Omnova raises prices on emulsion polymers

USA: Effective from 16 January, Omnova Solutions has announced price increases in US-produced emulsion polymers for its specialty chemicals markets.

The move is said to reflect “continuing escalation in the costs of key raw materials” and is in addition to previously announced increases.

The company is to raise its price by $0.06 per dry pound for all styrene butadiene emulsion polymers produced in the US, and all vinyl pyridine (VP) latex products produced in the US will increase by $0.10 per dry pound, in markets including coatings, tape and adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles, construction, tire cord, and oilfield chemicals.

Omnova Solutions Inc. is a technology-based company with pro forma sales for the twelve months ending 31 August 2011 of $1.2 billion and a global workforce of approximately 2,700.
