Octal growing PET capacity

25 January 2011

Global PET packaging company Octal reports it is on track to complete the latest phase of an operational expansion this year and to achieve US$1.5 billion in annual sales in 2012.

The Oman based manufacturer opened a 400,000-tonne capacity integrated PET resins and sheet packaging facility in the southeast port city of Salalah in January 2009.

Phase two of the complex will be commissioned in June 2012, to add an additional 527,000 tonnes of production. This will make it the ‘world's largest producer of PET resins on one site’ as well as the world's largest producer of PET sheet, claims the company.
