The UK based Essentra Group is to acquire Clondalkin's Specialist Packaging Division for approximately US$455 million. The deal is expected to complete in Q1 2015.
With 24 strategically located facilities, Clondalkin SPD is a leading global provider of speciality secondary packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and health & personal care industries. The company is a leading player in North America, and has strong market positions in Europe.
The acquisition significantly enhances Essentra's existing geographic presence in healthcare packaging and will allow it to further exploit both existing, and new growth opportunities. Clondalkin SPD's portfolio of folding carton, product literature and labels also complements Essentra's current packaging and authentication capabilities, broadening the range offered to customers.
