New Kodak Achieve platesetters offer value for smaller print operations

23 July 2013

Kodak has released the new Kodak Achieve T400 and T800 Platesetters, targeting general commercial customers aiming to achieve affordable, high quality print production.

According to the company, the new T400 and T800 Platesetters build on the high-performance thermal CTP technology featured in Kodak’s Trendsetter Platesetter platform to deliver 2,400dpi at up to 28 plates per hour.

“Larger commercial and specialised printers have long been reaping the benefits of Kodak’s imaging technology, while general commercial printers have been patiently waiting for a solution that provides proven quality with a price tag within the smaller printer’s range,” says Olivier Claude, general manager for print & VP commercial business EAMER, Kodak.

In the current economic climate, general commercial printers do not need a top-line specialised system, adds Claude.

“They need a robust print solution whose dependability and output calibre drives measurable results,” he says.

“We believe that these [T400 and T800] systems, available across Europe, do just that.”

In March 2012, Kodak announced the availability of its new Kodak Achieve All-In-One CTP System, optimised for commercial, publication, and small-format offset packaging printers in emerging markets.
