New HDPE resins from Nova

26 November 2014

Nova Chemicals recently commercialised two new high density polyethylene (HDPE) resins for packaging applications.

Surpass CCs757 is an HDPE resin for still and sparkling bottled water applications. It is said to feature an exceptional combination of physical performance, processing, and organoleptic properties. The physical properties provide outstanding stiffness, enable lightweighting, and support ultra-fast cycle time requirements in injection and compression moulding.

The second new resin is Sclair 2610CC HDPE, designed for dairy and other non-carbonated beverage closures. Excellent environmental stress crack resistance properties, warpage resistance, and product performance reliability are promised. In addition, the resin is said to have excellent processability that can shorten moulding cycle times.
