New compact code scanner

22 July 2011

SICK (UK) is targeting the packaging industry with a compact code scanner that it believes sets a new design standard.

The LECTOR 620 High Speed was developed for packaging and document handling. It is said to be two-thirds smaller than some 2D scanners on the market.

Parameters are set at the push of a button, and the laser-based alignment assistance reduces training and installation time. LED illumination ensures quick analysis of the read-rate performance, explains the supplier.

It offers real-time, reliable decoding of all images captured with a frequency of 60Hz, improving read-rates and throughput, as well as timely detection and elimination of read problems.
