The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) new Guide to the International Transport of Aerosols (2011) is designed to help readers through the complex legislation governing the transport of aerosols.
The revised Guide covers UK and international transport, with a particular focus on ‘limited quantities’. It explains how to consign aerosols for transport in each mode: the classification, packaging, testing, marking and labelling requirements, and when and what documentation is required.
It explains the UN model regulations and the varying requirements of transport by road, rail, sea and air modes, with relevant extracts from the Regulations and the training required. Notably, a new limited quantity mark
has replaced the UN number.
The Guide costs £250 + VAT for non-members and is free for BAMA members.
BAMA is running a one-day Transport Seminar in London on 13 July 2011 that fulfils the mandatory training requirement of those involved in the transport of dangerous goods. The members’ rate is £175 plus VAT and £340 plus VAT for non-members.
Packaging web TV channel Pack TV’s recent interview with Sue Rogers, Director of BAMA, marked the 50th birthday of the trade association by including memorable aerosol archive footage filmed in the 60s and links to images spanning the past 50 years.
