Continuing its run of recent innovations, Nampak has launched the UK’s first 1.5-litre version of its Infini plastic milk bottle into the convenience sector, as part of a joint project with Müller Wiseman Dairies.
Six months in development, the 1.5-litre bottle follows Nampak’s design principles for the Infini range, weighing only 26g, said to be the same as a UK standard 1-litre plastic milk bottle.
100% recyclable, containing 15% recycled HDPE, the new Infini milk bottle size recently completed a trial period in UK discount stores.
“Infini has been responsible for a paradigm shift in milk packaging over the past couple of years, making it lighter and more environmentally friendly, but without compromising on its strength,” says Eric Collins, managing director of Nampak Plastics.
“The 1.5-litre bottle is the newest addition to the Infini range, to go alongside all the other imperial and metric sizes. It’s also the latest in the long line of exciting developments for Infini and there are many more to come.”
Early consumer reaction to the new bottle size has been “encouraging”, according to a Müller Wiseman Dairies spokesperson.
