Nampak Infini milk bottle passes 500 million mark

31 March 2014

Sales of Nampak Plastics’ Infini plastic milk bottle have now passed the half a billion mark.

Since it was launched in 2012, the Infini plastic milk bottle has gained listings with a number of major UK retailers including Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.

The lightest and strongest plastic milk bottle currently on the British market, Infini has saved 34,000 tonnes of carbon and 16,000 tonnes of material per year since 2012, according to Nampak.

Eric Collins, managing director of Nampak Plastics, comments: “For the last six years, the team has been focused on continuously innovating and pushing boundaries where possible with Infini, and this is now showing exceptional tangible results, reducing the carbon footprint of the plastic milk bottle.

“The half a billion mark is a significant milestone – we couldn’t be prouder of our accomplishments so far, and we look forward to continued growth ahead.”

To date, Infini has claimed a number of industry awards around the world, including a silver prize for sustainability at the coveted WorldStar Awards, and winning Green Product of the Year at the British Engineering Excellence Awards in 2013.
