Multivac launches target greater process reliability

19 September 2013

At the Compamed show in November, Multivac will be launching several packaging solutions designed to further improve process reliability in the packaging of healthcare and life science products.

The new products include: a thermoforming packaging machine for fully automatic GMP-compliant packaging in large and small batch volumes; a folding box labeller; the traysealer T 260; and the C 400 TC, a special chamber machine with temperature-controlled sealing bar.

According to the Germany-based company, its new optimised thermoforming packaging machine is optimised for safe line clearance, with the areas for product processing and machine technology largely separated from each other.

The folding box labeller to be unveiled by Multivac Marking & Inspection is seals the insertable tabs of folding boxes with a label, to ensure that packs have tamper evidence.

The label also serves as a protection against the opening of packaged medicines.

The semi-automatic T 260 traysealer provides a continuously adjustable and “extremely precise” packaging procedure, with a complete overview of the entire process as well as traceability of the individual process stages during packing.

And, designed for sterile medical products, the C 400 TC presents a solution for the traceability and “seamless documentation” of the packaging procedure, with the aid of barcodes and RFID radio chips.

Multivac will be exhibiting at Compamed in Düsseldorf, Germany, 20-22 November, in Hall 08a, Stand H01.
