A new trade body, Metal Packaging Europe has been formed to represent the united interests of producers and suppliers of metal packaging across Europe.
It brings together metal packaging manufacturers, metal producers and their existing trade associations, namely APEAL (Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging), BCME (Beverage Can Makers Europe), EAA (The European Aluminium Association) and EMPAC (The European Metal Packaging Association).
Established by chief executives from the major aluminium, steel and packaging converter companies, the new body’s stated aim is to establish metal packaging ‘as a recognised and valuable contributor to sustainability in public policy and through the supply chain’.
