Mauser to commence reconditioning JV with Bressan in Brazil

12 April 2012

Germany-based Mauser Group has expanded its presence in industrial packaging reconditioning in the south of Brazil, with the signing of a joint venture agreement with Bressan Inovações Ambientais.

A well-known family-owned business located close to Porto Alegre, and operating in the Brazilian market for more than 30 years, Bressan reconditions steel drums, plastic drums, jerry cans and IBCs, as well as producing Post Consumer Resin (PCR).

The partnership with Mauser/NCG (the company’s reconditioning subsidiary, National Container Group) is scheduled to begin in May this year, offering customers washed, rebottled, trip-leased, and laundered IBCs as well as Mauser’s ‘Total Recollect’ services, which include a comprehensive recollection of different packaging solutions.

“Expanding the reconditioning activities in the South of Brazil is in line with Mauser’s strategy to help customers combine economy with ecology,” says Ricardo Goldenberg, director at NCG Tankpool, the Brazilian NCG subsidiary.

“Due to this joint venture, our local customers not only benefit from advanced packaging solutions through the synergies between Bressan, Mauser and NCG Tankpool, but they will also profit from new services such as rebottling.”

In September 2011, in line with it commitment to manage the entire life cycle of plastic packaging, Mauser/NCG announced the opening of a new factory building adjacent to its location in Taubaté near São Paulo, Brazil, for the recycling of materials that will be used as PCR for producing new packaging solutions.
