Macpac acquires Hamilton Plastic Packaging

18 July 2011

UK thermoformer Macpac has acquired Northampton-based Hamilton Plastic Packaging.

The Hamilton sales team has been retained, and all production will be transferred to Macpac’s newly refurbished facility at Stockport by the end of August 2011.

Both companies operate Illig thermoforming machinery so all tooling owned by Hamilton customers will be compatible with Macpac’s machines. This will ensure not only an uninterrupted service without additional cost but also access to more advanced facilities.

Macpac’s machines are newer and feature pressure forming for improved quality and lead times. The company has also just taken delivery of an RV74c pressure former – its fourth new machine in two years. In addition, Macpac offers in-house design and tooling, substantial warehousing space and a contract packing service.
