Linpac Packaging is launching the LeanBake range of hinged bakery boxes, which are lighter than previous designs in order to ease the environmental tax burden on retailers and manufacturers across Europe.
Designed for use with morning goods such as croissants, Danish pastries, tarts and muffins, the LeanBake range is available in a range of sizes that can be easily displayed on-shelf.
The PET containers have a premium appearance with “excellent” visibility, and have been designed to help keep products fresh and tasty.
LeanBake hermetic (airtight) boxes have been developed especially for sponge-based products to keep moisture within the pack so that they stay fresher for longer, while the standard LeanBake box is slightly vented on three sides to allow air to circulate and ensure that pastry products such as croissants and Danish pastries retain their crispiness.
Megan Ashcroft, UK-based Linpac’s European bakery marketing manager, says: “The technical innovation which has gone into their design enables the LeanBake containers to be lighter than our previous hinged box designs without affecting the pack’s rigidity and protective qualities, ensuring bakery items are not damaged during transit and so that consumers can enjoy their pastry as it was when first bought in-store.”
LeanBake boxes have been designed to stack easily and uniformly, to assist in the production process.
The consumer experience is also enhanced by the design of the corner radius, which assists with the opening of the packs, and the external dimensions of the boxes have been adapted so that they fit on the standard European pallet.
