Ishida Europe is introducing an enhancement to its Atlas range of snack food bagmakers, which it says will increase the machines’ already-high speeds on potato chips by a further 35% to a “performance leading” 150 bags/min on a single packaging machine.
According to the company, customers with existing Atlas systems can boost packing capacity immediately with no requirement for additional floor space, by retrofitting the new Ishida Charge Transfer Control (CTC) system.
The resulting reduction in product charge length means speeds can be closely controlled to deliver the increased throughput while also contributing to lower product and film waste, the company says.
A high speed chute design features a rotary poker and shutter system, in combination with gentle product handling, and a hygienic construction ensures simple maintenance and cleaning.
“This is a further improvement to what was already the best-in-class weighing and bagging solution for the snacks market,” says Simon Ruffley, Ishida Europe’s business manager, snacks packaging systems.
“Through further control of the product charge, we have once again extended the boundaries of what can be achieved, delivering the sort of high packing speeds for snack products that up until now were simply unattainable.”
