Luxury carton manufacturer Grafiche Bramucci has signed a partnership agreement to make use of anti-counterfeiting specialist Ingenia Technology’s anti-diversion and anti-counterfeiting solution Laser Surface Authentication (LSA).
The deal enables Milan-based Grafiche Bramucci to provide its cosmetics, fragrance and luxury products customers with Ingenia’s powerful, covert product security technology to help protect their prestigious designer brands.
LSA involves scanning each individual carton to record a ‘fingerprint’ based on the intrinsic microscopic random nature of the surface of the item.
Grafiche Bramucci has installed Ingenia’s scanning and coding system as part of a comprehensive anti-counterfeiting and anti-diversion initiative.
The partnership also sees Ingenia’s first installation to date of a double scan-head, which allows the LSA system to scan the inside as well as the outside of each product.
This ensures that Grafiche Bramucci can secure all their customers’ cartons regardless of design requirements or material type.
Ingenia’s LSA solution requires no additions or changes to a product and therefore allows complete protection of branded goods with “no compromise to the design or aesthetics”.
Francesca Bramucci, owner of Grafiche Bramucci, says: “With the rise of illicit trade within the luxury sector, and given our prestigious customer portfolio, it is vital that Grafiche Bramucci is able to offer the very best solutions for anti-counterfeiting and anti-diversion.
“Ingenia has worked closely with us to provide a world-leading, fully integrated solution that is tailored to our specific needs.”
