A new global force in packaging line engineering has been created by the merger of Gebo and Cermex, two established brands in the field, to form Gebo Cermex.
Headquartered in Alsace, France, the new entity brings together Gebo’s five decades of experience in the field of conveying and material handling, with Cermex’s expertise and technological resource in overwrapping and end-of-line equipment for fast-moving consumer goods.
While operating as part of the Sidel Group, the new company will have “considerable autonomy” to focus on its core expertise of delivering “cutting-edge packaging line engineering solutions”.
Covering a wide spectrum of technical sectors including food & beverage, home & personal care and pharmaceutical products, Gebo Cermex is described as: “Fully-formed as the biggest and most advanced packaging line engineering firm in the world.”
The range of industrial solutions covered by the company will include line-integration, conveying, feeding systems and tunnel machines, overwrapping, packing and palletizing systems, as well as a “comprehensive after-sales service”.

Operating from Reichstett, near Strasbourg, the Gebo Cermex group already has over 15 commercial facilities and manufacturing sites worldwide, with more than 37,000 installations operational around the world and an annual turnover of €320 million.
