‘Free-from’ metal bowl

28 April 2011

Amcor has designed its new aluminum bowls with an internal coating that is Bisphenol A (BPA) free and for eating directly from using a spoon or fingers.

With a ‘soft and spill-free’ opening and smooth edges, the Canny range conprising100, 115 and 140ml bowls is aimed at ‘on the go’ and indulgence products.

It is the first wrinkle-free thin wall aluminum bowl with a fully printable surface, Amcor claims.

“The result is a shiny and smooth surface with great haptics,” says Albert Bijsterbosch, Head of R&D at Amcor Flexibles Zutphen.

Canny is believed to be more than 30% lighter than a standard aluminum bowl with ring-pull.

The nestable empty bowls are said to give an up to 90% saving on space in transit, and they can be compacted by hand after use.

DS Smith supplied the carton.
