Flahavan’s targets UK with new oats range packaging

16 June 2012

Following a major three-year rebranding exercise, Ireland’s leading producer of oats, Flahavan’s, has launched a new range of packaging exclusive to the UK.

The family-run, County Waterford-based company has launched the range to all supermarket stores nationwide n the UK during the last three months.

Although a household name in Ireland for over 200 years, Flahavan’s wanted to achieve consistent branding across its extensive range of products.

The new packaging creates a distinctive, traditional-looking livery for the Flahavan’s brand, highlighting the premium quality of the Irish oats and strengthening shelf visibility.

The company recently won the International Marketing Award at the All Ireland Marketing Awards 2012, which acknowledged Flahavan’s for its international success, particularly in the UK and US.

The company’s sales & marketing director John Noonan says: “We are continuing our efforts through the launch our new livery in the UK, which has already had a great consumer response leading to increased distribution and a number of new products coming to the UK market.”

Flahavan’s has been operating in Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford for over 200 years, making it one of the longest-lived family businesses in Ireland. The family continues to use a milling process that cooks the oats twice, resulting in a distinctive creamier taste and texture.

The Flahavan’s range includes: Organic Porridge Oats, Coarse Cut Oatmeal, Quick Oats, Irish Porridge Oats, Irish Organic Jumbo Oats and Multi seed.
