FINAT World Congress 2013

28 February 2013

In its 55th year, FINAT – the worldwide association for the self-adhesive labels and related products – will join forces with German national label association VskE to hold its annual Congress, General Assembly and the announcement and presentation of the prizes in the FINAT International Label Competition.

FINAT has issued a final call for entries to its 2013 label competition, which recognises and rewards achievements in terms of both end use/marketing impact and print and converting quality. Entries must be received by 8 March.

The organising committee responsible for the preparation of the 2013 conference programme has chosen ‘Label Your Future’ as the theme for the event.

Says FINAT president Kurt Walker: “After all, ‘labelling our future’ is a matter of actively controlling our own destiny by making the right choices, taking into account the relevant forces and megatrends.”

Walker adds that this year’s FINAT Congress programme will give participants: “A multidimensional perspective of the future from authoritative speakers in the areas of social science, economy, ecology, sustainability, label printing technology, business trends, management and entrepreneurship.”

One of Germany’s leading future thinkers, Prof. Dr. Horst Opaschowski, will begin the Congress programme by presenting an insight into the “lifestyles and guiding principles of modern society in the 21st Century”.

Werner Dornscheidt, of the Save Food initiative, will speak about the industry’s responsibilities in developing and securing solutions for sustainable food management, while Prof. Dr. Richard Pott will address the issues of biodiversity, habitat loss and climate change in relation to the process of global extinctions.

Complete details about the awards entries, the Congress programme, registration, and other arrangements can be found on the FINAT website.
