UK-based single source packaging provider FDL Packaging Group has acquired Richard Wood Packaging, a long-established producer of wooden packaging systems and heavy-duty corrugated board.
Based between Liverpool and Manchester in the north-west of England, FDL Group says the Richard Wood offering fits perfectly into its portfolio in terms of customer profile, markets, services and products.
“The acquisition represents yet another step in FDL’s ongoing strategy of growing its total packaging solutions offering,” the company says, “through taking on board new market expertise, resources and capabilities.”
FDL Group also expects the move to help it improve operational efficiencies and “address the ‘green’ agenda” by reducing energy consumption levels.
