Eurosac Grand Prix goes to Dy-Pack’s LEOSystem

14 June 2012

Dy-Pack Verpackungen in Germany has been awarded the Grand Prix award by the Eurosac 2012 congress, for its LEOSystem clean-opening concept for food, animal feed and building materials.

The industrial paper bag manufacturer’s ‘Light-Easy-Open-System’ is said to allow “a perfectly clean bag opening” that “prevents product contamination from paper fibres on opening”.

At the same time, the company says the paper sack can easily be emptied completely, so no product is spilled, thereby offering a sustainable solution for the target product categories.

The principal criteria for the sacks presented to the Eurosac Grand Prix jury at the end of May were “added value to the industry, whether in terms of innovation, sustainable development, design, high quality printing or as a customer message carrier”.

Apart from its ease of opening, Dy-Pack says LEOSystem offers: “Optimum impermeability, moisture protection, fat impermeability and durability, and oening without tools.”

Based in Paris, Eurosac represents the European multiwall paper sack industry, embodying over 70% of the European multiwall paper sack manufacturers operating in 20 countries, collaborating as Ordinary members. Their production in 2011 represented more than 5.5 billion sacks, using nearly 700,000 tons of paper converted in 61 plants.

Created in 1952, the federation is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and elected a new president, Luis Elorriaga from Mondi Ibersac, at the 2012 Congress in Amsterdam.
