Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box has launched a double gusset version of its increasingly popular Pouch-Up pack, which features a “more cylindrical” shape.
Having achieved good growth particularly in the wine and cocktail sectors in the last two years, Pouch-Up has previously been available in 1.5-litre and 3-litre formats with a single gusset.
The paper-based packaging solutions giant says: “A little different visually, the double gusset Pouch-Up offers all the benefits of the single gusset – effective film, ease of use and low carbon footprint.”
The entire surface of Pouch-Up can be photoprinted, enabling the brand on the shelf to be identified easily.
The structure of the film and the Vitop Compact tap provides an oxygen barrier, which means the drink inside “stays fresher for longer once opened”.
Light, unbreakable and easy to use, Pouch-Up is also said to be ideal for targeting the growing trend for on-the-go consumption.
“Today, Smurfit Kappa offers a complete range of Pouch-Up in terms of content and shape,” the Ireland-headquartered company says.
“This range increase, which meets new customer needs, is set to further increase the popularity of this modern, economical, practical and environmentally-friendly packaging.”
