Delicious rose

16 March 2011

Packaging company Cosfibel and design agency A-vos-marks created tailor-made packaging for an edible crystallised rose.

To wrap the stabilised rosebuds and petals called on Cosfibel’s transparent packaging specialist Roskoplast to produce an elegant case inspired by the jewellery world.

The APET case with a diamond-shaped wedge is said to enclose and maintain its fragile contents ‘like a jewel’.

This gourmand concept, used in pastry decoration, is distributed under the Instant Naturel brand name at Harvey Nichols in London and at Dean & Deluca in New York.

The rose petal cases are also found on trays at the Shaza chain of hotels in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

In a festive twist, A-vos-marks mounted the rosebud on a band so the flower becomes a fun and fleeting gourmand ring and gift (pictured).

The French design agency specialises in the food sector for private-label brands.
